We have had a great first week back from Fall Break. The second nine weeks is in full swing and our kids are working hard. Be on the lookout for information on some great family events coming up including our Trunk or Treat event and Veterans Day Celebration. I hope you have a great weekend and we will see you on Monday.

Students in Elementary and Middle School who pack their lunch can now receive up to three free items to accompany their packed lunch. For more details see the graphic below.

We are flying through the year. Can you believe the first nine weeks have already passed? Thank you to all who participated in our parent teacher conferences. I hope everyone enjoys your Fall Break and has an opportunity to enjoy time with family and friends. We will be back in session on October 14th. Have a great week!

What a fun and busy week we’ve had!! We loved having lots of grandparents coming this week to eat lunch with students. Thank you for your support of the Book Fair and for coming to our Family Curriculum Night. We enjoyed having so many guests in the building this week! We appreciate you for always supporting WLES. Just a reminder that our annual Fall Festival is next week. Our PTO is working hard to make sure it is a great time for everyone. Enjoy your weekend.

Show up and join students from across the state of Kentucky celebrate High Attendence Day!! Tomorrow we will be having a special treat for breakfast!! Be sure to be here on time to enjoy your "sweet treat". Also, tomorrow is PAJAMA DAY!! If you are present all day your name may go into a drawing for a really cool prize from the district. If you have perfect attendance the whole month of September you could also will a prize. Be sure to check out the attached pictures for all the details!!

We have had another great week. Our students worked very hard on their fall assessments. We have a busy visit next week. It's Grandparents Week, our fall Book Fair, and Open House/Cirriculum Night on the 10th. We are excited for you to come out to the school , enjoy a great lunch, and maybe find a good book or two. It's also HIGH ATTENDANCE DAY on the 12th. Be sure to be at school this week!! Also, please keep working on your student’s reading minutes at home. Your support is greatly appreciated. A HUGE shout out to our community sponsors for your support during our annual Ag Day. The students had a blast with the animals, the farm equipment and learning about agriculture. WLES Parents-We are excited to begin our 1st Nine Weeks Reading Challenge onMonday. You should be getting information from your teacher today about this exciting opportunity to encourage reading at home. Also, be on the lookout for information coming to you soon about our Fall Book Fair and the upcoming Grandparents week. Just a reminder that our Running Club and Choir have started and we look forward to the first cross country race of the year.
