Today, Jason Goddard was sworn in at the Daviess County Fiscal Courthouse to begin working as a sub-SLEO for the Daviess County Public Schools Police Department. Goddard comes to the DCPS Police Department from the Owensboro Police Department as a retired Sergeant with 21 years of service. Before becoming a Sergeant in 2019, Goddard worked at the street level as an officer along with working in the Juvenile Unit as a Detective. Officer Goddard retired as the Sergeant of the Crime Prevention Unit for OPD where he oversaw special programs including the School Resource Officers (SRO) within the Owensboro Public School System. Officer Goddard will serve as a sub-officer when others in the police department are out of their buildings and roles for various reasons. Having this additional support will be greatly beneficial to the Police Department along with his years of experience and background. Outside of law enforcement, he has served as a Daviess County Middle School boys’ assistant soccer coach from 2016-2023 and is a United States Soccer Federation licensed soccer referee. He is happily married wife Stacy and they have two boys, Jackson who is a junior at U of L, and Keaton, who is a senior at Daviess County High School.
