Our Speech team competed at Regionals this weekend. Mrs. Dunn won Junior Coach of the Year. London Wright & Amelia Anderson are Regional runner-ups in Duo Acting and Burns placed 3rd in the Junior Sweepstakes Congratulations to all our speech team participants: Aristotle Brown, Kasen Shown, Kaisen Ray, Payton Hathorn, London Wright & Amelia Anderson! Good luck to our team members who will be competing in the State competition on 2/21-2/22 in Lexington, KY!

Two of our foxes competed in the 2025 KFWC State Wrestling Championships this weekend. Jaiden Carver placed 4th in the state in his weight division and Jaxton Howard placed 5th in his weight division. Congratulations!

The symptoms for Flu/Covid are the same it seems- Headache, Fever (not always), Body aches, upset stomach, congestion, sore throat. Burns Middle School competed in the Etherton Jr. Sr. Invitational speech tournament today. With this being the first year Burns has had a team, I wanted to share our results! These kids have grown so much in their public speaking this year and we are so proud to help give our students voice. Here are our results: -Payton Hathorn (8th grade) placed 6th overall in Poetry -Emily Bethel (8th grade) placed 5th overall in Humorous Interpretation -Kaisen Ray & Kasen Shown (7th grade) placed 6th overall in Duo acting and also competed in improvisation duo acting -Aristotle Brown (7th grade) placed 6th overall in Broadcasting -Amelia Anderson & London Wright (7th grade) placed 8th in duo acting Overall, Burns placed 5th out of all middle schools! Students will compete again next Saturday at Regionals at DCHS!
