Parents and Guardians,
It’s going to be another great week in the Foxes Den! March is here and the days are longer and the weather is warmer. I hope this means an end to the sickness and a jump in our attendance. In March we are participating in an attendance challenge with other schools in our district. It’s set up like a March Madness bracket where we have the chance to compete with other schools head-to-head. March 8 is our first opportunity to advance into further competition. If we have the highest attendance on Friday, March 8, we continue in the challenge. If we win the challenge one of our students is eligible to win a set of third-generation AirPod Pros. One of our students won in September, so we want to defend our previous win!
This week is the last week of the 3rd quarter (nine-week) grading period. Be sure to talk with your student about their grades and their attendance. March begins the last four weeks until Spring Break. This time is crucial learning time for our students before testing and test prep begins. Remind your students too that this is an important time to be getting good sleep!
Thank you to everyone who participated and planned for Kindness Month in February. I’m so impressed by our students’ efforts to show kindness. Many of our students took part in activities that raised our awareness of kindness and showed kindness to their peers, like the Random Acts of Kindness Bingo where students took the time to do kind things in and around our building.
Last week, our Eighth-grade students had the opportunity to visit Apollo and learn more about the school, the programs, the teachers, and the administration. This was a great opportunity to get a head start on planning for next year!
On Monday, March 4, we are hosting Family Fun and Literacy Night. We will have several guests from the community who will present information about internet and social media safety for teens, healthy living, parenting tips, and the Book Fair. Dinner will be provided!
Just another quick reminder when exiting the car rider line in the mornings, please DO NOT turn right into the bus lane and faculty parking area. This is not an exit. This continues to create a risk to student and adult safety.
Have a great week!
