It’s been a big weekend in the Foxes Den! The BMS Academic Team competed at the Regional Governor's Cup competition on Saturday. They did a fantastic job representing the Fox's Den. Foster Dalton placed fifth in Arts and Humanities and advanced to the state competition in Louisville March 8-11. The FPS (Future Problem Solvers) team consisting of Tommy Rager, Ben Halbig, Colin Willinger, and Layla Embry took home first place, advancing to the state competition as well. They will compete at the state competition for a bid to the FPS International competition in June!
The Cheerleading team has been in Florida at the national competition this past weekend. The team placed seventh in the nation in the Junior High Non-Tumble division and fifth in the nation for the Junior High Non-Tumble Game Day Division. We are so proud of all of our Foxes who are making their mark in academics and athletics!
We continue to celebrate Kindness Month in February. You may have seen our signs in front of our school and many other DCPS schools. On Wednesdays across the district, we recognize staff and students who wear something related to kindness. But more importantly, we are learning about ways to be kind in our Den Time. And we are celebrating throughout the month with our kindness challenge. Be sure to ask your students how they are showing extra kindness this month!
ESS (Extended School Services) will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays mornings and afternoons until Spring Break. This is a great opportunity for your students to catch up on work they may have missed.
Have a great week!
