Parents and Guardians,
It’s been gray and rainy outside, but inside the Foxes Den, it was gold and blue. This week was a great return to in-person learning. And it was Spirit Week! We also celebrated our sixth and seventh-grade Foxes who didn’t lose any Fox cards this last semester by taking a field trip to The Edge Ice Arena. On Tuesday of this week, we will be celebrating in the same way with our eighth graders.
Spirit Week at BMS this week was to celebrate and prepare for the boys’ district basketball tournament this past weekend. We topped off the week with a Pep Rally! I hope you saw some of the pictures of our students dressed up for the week on our BMS Facebook page. We are all so grateful for the participation of our students! All of our boys’ basketball teams competed this weekend. Our sixth-grade team finished their season on Saturday with an impressive 12-6 record. Our seventh-grade boys’ basketball team beat Holy Name on Saturday 36-34 to advance to the second round of the district tournament on Tuesday at 7:00 pm at College View Middle School. Our eighth-grade boys’ team closed out their season in a close loss to CVMS Saturday night 42-39. Our girls’ basketball finishes its regular season this Tuesday night at home at 5:00 pm.
Our dance team competed in the HCCHS Valentine Classic Cheer and Dance competition and placed third as a team in small pom, third place as a team in small hip hop, first place in hip hop solo, and first place in lyrical duet. Congratulations!
Just a reminder that ESS has begun again. Students can still get help in the library at 7:30 Monday through Thursday, and in the afternoon from 3:30-5:00 pm Monday through Thursday. Be sure to continue to have conversations with your students about their grades as we move to the midterm of the third quarter.
The newsletter is a place for everyone to know what is happening at BMS. One question I have been asked frequently is “What is Den Time?” Den Time is a class period within our schedule where teachers have the opportunity to remediate or reteach concepts students have not mastered. This time is also used for weekly social and emotional learning lessons, for work on Career exploration, for extended practice, and for learning about current events.
Have a great week!
