Happy Friday!  Fall is in the air and we are gearing up for a fantastic September. We enjoyed seeing all of you who were able to attend our parent conferences. If you did not, do not hesitate to reach out to your student's teachers if you have questions about their midterm grades. We celebrated High Attendance Day this week, and while we didn’t win the district high attendance award, we certainly had fun wearing hats to remind our students of how important it is to be at school. We are still in the running for the high attendance month award for the district, so let’s work hard to get our kids to school!  Missing two days a month adds up to missing ten percent of the school year!

We still need parent survey data for our Community Schools Grant to help us best serve our students. This will be sent home via Talking Points again.  The grade with the highest parent participation on the survey will get tech time at lunch next Thursday. We are looking for one more parent for our site-based decision-making council. Please contact Ms. Bronsink if you are interested. In the area of safety, we have a new AED installed in our gym lobby. This will allow quick access to life-saving equipment for our students as well as guests.  Mark your calendars for the upcoming events: September 22 is a teacher workday; students will not have school that day.  September 25-29 is Spirit Week with the Pink Out Football Game on the 28th. Fall Break is October 9-13. October 26th is our Fall Fright Night where we will host fun and games and a haunted house. Be sure to visit our website and Talking Points for more information about all the things happening at BMS! Have a fantastic weekend!

Go Foxes!
