It’s been another fantastic week in the Foxes Den! Our students continue to impress us with their hard work, kindness, responsibility, respect, and plenty of humor! Burns Middle School is filled with great teachers and staff who are working to ensure our students get what they need–and hopefully have fun in the process! I am grateful for the hard-working and passionate people who make up the Foxes Den–teachers, office professionals, counselors, custodians, and assistants. Teamwork is an essential piece of our success. You’ll notice that your students are part of a team: Angels, Braves, Colonels, Expos, Falcons, or Giants which means that they have a group of grade-level content teachers who can focus their vision on a small group of our students. Our teacher teams meet together weekly to look at data with guidance and administrators to discuss how best to support your student: academically, behaviorally, or emotionally. Their passion and willingness to serve our school community is an excellent model to our students as well.
Our sports teams are continuing to excel–even in this heat! The Fox Bowl was a great success for both our 7th and 8th grade football, cheer, and dance teams last weekend. We look forward to next week with school pictures on Friday, September 1, and our Color Bash Dance on Friday afternoon from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Be sure to send your students with a change of clothes! Have a great weekend and stay cool!
