Do you have a young lady who is a Junior or Senior in High School that would like to attend Prom but the cost of the dress and accessories is a financial burden on your family? What if I told you that Cinderella's Closet can make that possible at NO COST to you?
Cinderella's Closet provides young ladies with a FREE dress, shoes, accessories... along with a day to feel like Cinderella. March 21st or 22nd, your student will come to Owensboro Christian Church at their given appointment time and then start their experience. Cinderella's will be given their own Fairy Godmother who will be with them through the process. They will enter the dress room where they will be given a dressing room, then they will browse through tons of dresses. All dresses are on racks by size. They will be able to try on dresses until they find that one they love. Once they do that, they will go and find shoes and a piece of an accessory which could be earrings, necklace, bracelet, tiara, clutch purse... Once they have completed their look, they will or can come out to the waiting room to show their 1 guest the complete outfit.
You may be thinking.... oh these dresses are probably old and not in style..... that is not true. Yes, these dresses are donated but many are bought as well. Dresses are gone through one by one to make sure they are in good shape, clean and in style. Also, if the dress doesn't fit exactly right, we have seamstresses on site to do minor alterations.
Once the dress is picked out or alterations have been checked, the dress will go to check-out where ladies will steam it and put it in a bag to protect it, their accessories will be put together in a bag with some other small gifts from Cinderella's Closet.
If no alterations have to be made, girls may wait on their dress. While they are waiting they will be able to enjoy some snacks, make flip flops by decorating them however they want, pick out a corsage, etc.
If a dress needs alterations, we will call when the dress is ready to be picked up or it will be delivered to her school the following week.
Remember, Cinderella's are able to bring 1 guest. The guest will be able to wait in our waiting room until their Cinderella is done. Also, no cell phones are allowed in the dressing room. Cinderella's will be able to have photos made in our photo backdrop waiting area.
