October 21, 2024
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Owensboro, KY– – Two students at Apollo High School are being celebrated for their honesty and integrity after they discovered a Louis Vuitton purse containing a significant amount of cash on the roadside and immediately turned it in to the school's law enforcement officer.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 15, when Brady Dunn and Gage Logsdon, both students, found the purse while driving to school. Rather than keeping it, the students took swift action and handed the purse over to Officer Katie Hunter, the school's law enforcement officer, ensuring that it was safely returned to its rightful owner.
The owner of the purse, a local resident who wishes to remain anonymous, was quickly located thanks to the efforts of the students and the school law enforcement officer. The owner expressed deep gratitude for the return of the purse and praised the students for their honesty.
Superintendent Charles Broughton commended the students for their exemplary behavior, stating, "We are incredibly proud of these young men for their actions. Their decision to turn in the purse reflects the values we strive to instill in our students—honesty, responsibility, and respect for others. This is a shining example of good character in action."
Principal Bob Dych echoed the sentiment, saying, "These students have shown their integrity as young adults and we are proud of how their actions reflect not only on themselves but also on their respective families and Apollo. Their actions are a reminder of the importance of doing the right thing, even when no one is watching."
