DCPS is kicking off the holiday spirit with a district-wide 12 Days of Holiday Fun Dress-Up Days! We encourage all schools and support offices to participate as we count down to Christmas Break.

Dr. April Devine is now serving in the role of DCPS Assistant Superintendent of Human Services. Dr. Devine comes to DCPS from Hopkins County Schools, where she served as the Director of Pupil Personnel. Her entire educational career has been serving the students of Hopkins County Schools in the roles of Director of Assessment, Assistant Principal of West Hopkins School, and English Teacher & Curriculum Coordinator for Madisonville-North Hopkins High School.
Dr. Devine holds a Doctorate in Education from Oakland City University, with a focus on Educational Leadership (Ed.D.), which she obtained in 2020. Dr. Devine holds multiple degrees from Murray State University. She received her Superintendent and DPP certification in 2013, a Master's Degree in School Administration in 2012, and a second Master's Degree in Secondary Education in English in 2005, and her Bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education in 2000.
“I am honored to join Daviess County Public Schools because of its strong reputation for excellence and its commitment to supporting both students and staff. I see this as more than a job; it’s a chance to grow with the district, serve the community, and help foster an environment where every student and staff member can thrive,” says Dr. Devine.




The AHS vs DCHS football game is tomorrow! Come out and cheer on the Apollo Eagles and Daviess County Panthers this Friday, Oct. 31st, at 7 PM. The game is at Eagle Stadium.

Mr. Taylor has been in Education for 22 years: 10 years as a Health / PE Teacher and Coach, 10 years as a school Administrator (Principal and an Assistant Principal). For the past two years, he has served as a Student Services Coordinator for DCPS.
Superintendent Broughton stated, “School admin changes during the academic year pose challenges, but I expect Mr. Taylor to provide strong leadership for Highland Elementary”.
Mr. Taylor said about his new role, “I am committed to helping continue the excellent learning at Highland Elementary. My career has been centered on fostering environments where every child feels seen, supported, challenged to achieve their personal best, and creating a community. These are my priorities for each child at Highland Elementary. Where we do “Whatever It Takes”!
