Four DCHS students

Daviess County High School recently learned that seniors Matthew Dunlay. Nathan Goins and Sally Tidwell were named National Merit Finalists for 2025.

They are among 15,000 students throughout the United States still in the running to be named a National Merit Scholar. This announcement is expected in early March.

These three advanced from a total of 50,000 semifinalists who were chosen based on their Pre-SAT scores, with them being the highest scorers in each of the 50 states, representing less than 1% of each state's high school seniors.

These students have about a 50% chance of being selected as a National Merit scholar, with 7,250 chosen in total.
