Principal's Message

 Welcome to West Louisville Elementary,  along with our entire faculty and staff I would like to thank you for allowing us to spend our days with your child. West Louisville Elementary, along with the support of our parents and the community, pride ourselves on a continued, consistent, tradition of academic excellence. WLES is a PBIS school where we focus on positive interventions in order to assist students. At WLES every Tiger ROARS-we are Respectful, Organized, Accepting of Others, Responsible and Safe.


West Louisville serves approximately 350 students in Preschool through 5th grade students in either self-contained classrooms or departmentalized classrooms depending on the needs of the students. WLES offers services to students in preschool, kindergarten, vocal music, physical education, library, guidance, art, and technology.  The Bridgeway Family Resource Center provides services to our families and eliminates barriers to learning. West Louisville has both academic and attendance incentive programs. Parent volunteers and the administrative team work diligently with the teaching staff to provide the best academic experiences for all students. Extracurricular opportunities include: Academic Team, choir, cross country club, cheerleading, archery team, Robotics Team, STLP, vocal music and theater, Walking Club, Extended School and an After-School Program. Parent involvement opportunities include a School-Based Decision Making Council, which meets monthly; volunteer program; and  PTO meetings and scheduled student performances.  We follow our motto everyday and we ‘Do our Best and Strive for Success!.
